Ganking... Ganking never changes. Further talk will be about the great game - EVE online - and about several of the many opportunities that this game offers. The mechanics of the game allow someone to attack other players in high-security space (some call it "safe space") and some are proud of this activity, some consider it evil, some call gankers champions of the Eve Online ecosystem, and some call them psychopaths - the point here is not to discuss whether it is good or bad, but the possibilities of countering the activity. As always, there are several options of counter-action - defend (repair) or attack. The purpose of this article is to show about the cheapest and most effective variant of the attack counter-action - jamming the ganker's ships with the help of a T1 frigate - the Griffin.
Disclaimer: as everyone knows, gankers are very sensitive and vindictive guys (this is despite the fact that ganker like to say that this is not so). Thus it is better to do all counter-action activities from clean character alts, not related to your main character(s).
A bit about the goals that are achieved by such patrolling. Besides some entertainment, the loss mails generated by or from the griffin give warning to other players through intel services like eve-gatecheck (https://eve-gatecheck.space/eve/) and Uedama Scout (https://www.twitch.tv/uedamascout) Gankers often do not publish kills, so as not to scare away potential victims. Additional aggravation to gankers in their hunts (refitting ships, extra characters needed to increase the chance of a successful gank, wasting resources to gank griffins, changing locations etc). Following the CCP slogan - "More isk - more risk!" (for gankers in this case), and, for sure, a chance to save the occasional victim. And one of the many positive side effects for you - a deeper understanding of the mechanics of the game in a PvP context.
What will be required of you - time (do you like fishing?), a clean account (alpha or omega), preferably using EVE-O (or EVE-X) and, optional, RIFT.
This section provides sample fits (about 1 mil isk) and skill plan for AG (Anti-Ganking) Griffins. The first one, "Classic AG", is a general fit for AG activity, allowing the Griffin to lock more targets and to salvage wrecks. The second, "Jam Boi", is more focused on increasing jam chance and has supplemental missile launchers to get additional ganker killmails. Feel free to change it to suit your needs.

The biggest benefit of using a Griffin (after cost) is the Caldari Frigate bonuses to jamming aka ECM (Electronic Countermeasures) that give a chance to cause the targeted ship to lose all targets it has locked (except for the jammer), and loses the ability to target anything that is not currently jamming it for 20 seconds - the Griffin has Caldari Frigate bonuses (per skill level):
15% bonus to ECM Target Jammer strength
10% reduction in ECM Target Jammer activation cost
The simplest situation for the use of the Griffin jamming tactics is in countering small groups of gankers. Here you need to keep an eye on the types of ganker ships. If possible, fit the correct race-specific jammers (there is always a chance to jam if a smaller chance, even if it is small in the case of non-race-specific jam modules). In general, if the victim doesn't get alpha’d, or one-shot, there is a chance to save the targeted victim even with a single Griffin.
The most difficult situation is confronting large groups of gankers hunting whales, large targets, like freighters, Orcas or bling fit battleships. The battle plan is the same as above, but you have to realize that usually the DPS of large group is significantly higher. There are chances to save victims in these cases too, and it happens regularly. In some cases you can concentrate on jamming the tackler, which can give the victim some time to run before the main DPS group lands on grid.
Take the pack of Griffins to the system in which you wish to be active to any convenient NPC station (move yourself or you can use the help of a delivery service). Set this as your home system for your medical clone (in case the capsule is killed). Set negative standings for your targets (if you're not sure who, you can look at in-game channel “[GANKER LIST]” for starters).
Board the Griffin, undock, check your Safety Setting (it must be green). Turn on preheat on the jammer modules. Warp to the chosen gate and get into orbit 30-70 km with the MWD (Microwarpdrive) on. Watch Netflix, mine, trade (or whatever you like) and watch the EVE-O preview window (if you don't minimize the Eve client window, the preview is updated in real time). As soon as red is added to it, it is worth checking more closely to what is happening on the grid.
When attacking the gankers target pilots with red aggression and scatter jammers. Afterwards do not forget to fix the burned modules in the station and return to the gate.
Of course, gankers don't like this situation at all, and sometimes they attack you, or call their friends with -10 security status, who shoot you down - but again, your cheap losses at the gate can warn other pilots, the ganker goes flashy red and cannot escape CONCORD (goes to rest for 15 minutes), and you are back in position in less than a minute, having switched to a new frigate.
Want to counter gates smartbombers? Easy! Make a bookmark near the smartbomber's ship, set a corvette to approach the bookmark and wait for the ganker to use the smartbombs. If the ganker uses smartbombs, you will get a kill right, which you can then use at any time or make available for public use (never for free, >20m isk is a good price), and the killmail of the corvette will be on the killboard (so it can warn other pilots of the dangerous system), and the ganker's security status will fall faster.
The pros of the tactic - no need to learn anything at all, absolutely zero - an alpha character in a corvette is completely enough.
